Getting Blinds cut

Hi
bit of a long shot this one, but does anyone know anywhere in the West of Scotland that will cut wooden venetian blinds to size?
Just had new windows fitted and the blind in the kitchen is now 2cm too large, I'm loathe to get rid of it as it cost a fortune!

I cannot help much but we had the same situation and as the fitters had originally measured up, they replaced the blind with a correctly fitted one free. In fact they let us keep the old ill fitted one which did not fit any rooms in our house but did in a friend's house. Perhaps give your fitters a ring.Penny xxx
Old age isn't bad when you consider the alternative.0 -
Easy peasy.... They probably have metal top section and the rest is wood. You can either cut the same equal amount from each side to ensure the cords stay equedistant (the same), or just cut one side (easier option.)
Now pull the cords tights and using masking or insulation tape, tape the vanes and the top box together as tight as possible. With either a jig saw, hack saw or if anyone has a mitre saw, cut thru' slowly and that should be that. The ends can be stained and may need a bit of sanding.0 -
lovely, cheers bigdoozer, borrowed a jig saw and taped up the blind, 5 minutes later all done0
