Hi I phoned Woolies back this morning after I recieved an e-mail of them saying that due to the credit crunch silentnight were not taking orders for this bed anymore from retailers.
I phoned silentnight and spoke to a lovely girl called Joanne who works in sale and supply and she told me this is complete rubbish and the credit crunch had not affected orders or supply but if it had they would welcome retail orders not deter them.
I rang Woolies back and they are getting another manager to give me a ring back so I am waiting for another phone call meanwhile my daughter is still sleeping on a camp bed.
I cannot work out why Woolies are saying this and yet silentnight have said that if Woolies faxed an order through today they would deliver it within 2 weeks what do you all think is happening?0 -
Im only guessing but looks like they have put the double up for sale at the single price as they say the RRP is £349 which seems the going rate for the single, i wonder if it will reapear again as a single or a double at a higher price
You can still view the page using google cache you might want to save it and print it out

Woolies did have the single also for £249.00 when I ordered the double on the 21st so I assume the price was right it was advertised on the front page of their website as special offer.I have e-mailed Trading Standards now to see if they can help and I am prepared to take action with Woolies over this I just need to know that I am within my rights to do so.
I mean they have still got my money even though they offered me a refund they should honour this sale.
I think I will e-mail silentnight and get the info in an e-mail back from them to present to Woolies because Woolies told me again this morning that silentnight are not taking any retail orders.
Thanks for all your help0 -
Hi Angy
I'd say Woolworths were definitely at fault here.
I ordered a grey single chill out for my son back in July and was given a lead delivery time of 3-4 weeks and an estimated date. In that period I received a letter from Silentnight confirming a delivery date ( earlier that Woolworths had quoted) and I got a call from them a few days before the date it was due to make sure everything was ok to go ahead.
Sounds like someone at Woolworths didn't process the order properly, I hope you get it sorted as its a fab little bed and my son loves his
Hi can I ask if you payed the special offer price for this as I have for the double.0 -
Whilst I realise that they dont have to sell to you at the price advertised surely if they have taken your money and confirmed sale by email then they have agreed to sell you it at that price and are breaking their contract? Personally I would get the email from Silentnight and forward it to Woolworths along with the one Woolies sent you adding that you intend to contact Trading standards as they have lied to you. I would have thought armed with an email from Silentnight and a copy of what they told you they wouldnt have a leg to stand on.0

Hi I just had phone call from silentnight who have offered to sell me the bed themselves at the same price as woolworths so thats 339.00 for the double instead of 550 I am really pleased it just shows that there are still some caring reputable companys out there.:T0
