Online banking?

Hi I wanna know what I can do about my online banking. (Please fell free to move this if it's in wrong place). I am registered to Natwest for online banking. Have just done an upgrade to Internet Explorer 8 and now it says that their online banking does not support IE8, anything I can do?

For a start you could tell us is firefox supported, latest update is 3.03, use firefox if its supported
  • Only Firefox 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0 are supported.

  • If it helps I am on the latest version of Firefox and have no problems here with banking online with Natwest.

Not sure what the problem could be, any browser should be able to read the page, have you tried speaking to Natwest to see if its a problem their end?

    Hello In for a Bargain

I'll move your thread to the 'Techie Stuff' board, where the techie experts will see it.;)

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. IE8 is still in its BETA stage. I would suggest uninstalling it and using Internet explorer 7. Though for banking, I would personally use FIREFOX with the NOSCRIPT plug in

And make sure your computer is free of spyware ~

    Malwarebytes

    UPDATE and QUICK SCAN

As above said, I would uninstall it, or remove it from updates as it doesn't show in add/remove programs. I did try this Beta too, but it wasn't permitting sites I use to work correctly, not even in compatibility mode (which is something you could try, click the button to the right of the url field).
My suggestion and/or advice is my own and it is up to you if you follow it, please check the advice given before acting on it.

When you get the error message in IE8 click Tools and select "Compatibility View", this puts it into IE7 mode for that site, it should automatically refresh, if not click refresh button.

It works with my Internet banking.

You shouldn't really be using beta software for online banking anyway.

  • Hi. Thanks for all your helpful suggestions folks. Problem sorted. Rang Natwest and they told me that they don't use a browser until it is fully tested, IE8 is still in testing stage, have gone back to IE7 and all is well. Thanks again.
