It's funny. I looked at their est. date and thought to myself "Hmm, They've been operating for over 150 years. I feel safe that they will know what to do"...
    Errors were made.

So all savers will lose up to £16k if they can't pay up?
  • Dude, what are you doing?? That is not news and really so unhelpful right now. There is nothing new in that news piece, Icesave has been in receivership all day long. Things may well get worse but you writing such alarmist headlines is ridiculous.

Not yet it isn't. Your thread headline is completely erroneous.

Your link is only to a media story. It is not to any kind of official announcement. Furthermore, it is quite old news too.

    Keep up!

Icesave is in 'Receivership'. This actually means that trustees are running the Icesave business and are still deciding what exactly they are going to do.

    Apology accepted. :)

The Russians might lend Iceland some money. Although, they haven't agreed to yet.

Fingers crossed. Nobody has actually lost ANY money yet. Toes crossed too.

With the partial nationalisation of all UK banks tomorrow morning it's looking unlikely any of us Icesavers will get any help from the UK Government as the cupboard will be bare. For my own sanity, I've emotionally written off my Icesave savings for now and any little I get back I'll treat as a bonus.
