Another one done - £150 more than renewal quote but happy to receive any voucher.
CheersIt is better to be prepared for an opportunity and not have one than to have an opportunity and not be prepared0 -
I'm on a council policy - as I'm in a ex-council flat. Much much cheaper! Thanks for the tip! £5 M&S - a nice shirt in the sales, I think.:D
not that I am dissing you, its the councils that annoy me!! Why should the council give ex council tennants cheaper insurance?????? Council tennants already getfree windows and kitchens and goodness knows what. And if they lose their job all their rent is paid, whereas if you've saved and bought a house, if you lose yourjob no !!!!!! pays your mortgage!!
No wonder flippin council tax is so high!!!
As an adage, my home insurance is due next week, a 4 bed semi. Ihave fiound if I get a dual quote the cheapest is well over £200. It's worth playing around withseparate quotes.
For years Ive paid buildings and contents separately
ie this year a quote from esure for buildings and contents is £258. Contents alone is £74 (And I go thru quidco I get £25 back
Buildings and contents with churchill is £274. If I get buildings alone it is £88.20
So I get buildings and contents cover for less than £162 AND £35 cash backI can be brown I can be blue I can be violet and sky. I can be hurtful I can be purple I can be anything you like..Gotta be green gotta be mean gotta be everything more...0 -

Discodee I doubt that a) they are actually a council tenant most council housing stock has been sold to independant housing association type companies and b) I also doubt that they actually provide the insurance, but act as an intermediary and can get good prices due to bulk buying. However a housing association is an excellent LL - now if you were to get upset about the sale of housing stock in the 80's and right to buy and the resulting lack of housing stock then I would be joining in your rant.
Also it is not councils that make legislation it is government.0 -
Just got my quote ... hope I'm not too late! (There's nothing on their website about the £5 voucher at all!)
Keeping my fingers crossed!I wish I was a glow worm, a glow worm's never glum
Cos how can you be gloomy, when the sun shines out your bum?
