Cost of bailout re Brish banks...

.....figure of 300k UK savers with Icesave, with deposits of approx £5 billion. Assuming most people keep to the £35k limit, the approx cost to UK banks would be half of this ie £2.5 billion (balance 20k euros from Iceland scheme). This would take out more than half of the FSCS funds and would have to be meet by the british banks. Surely it would be in the banks interest to keep Icesave/Heritable operational as a going concern?
Another point if the european scheme has been increase to 50k euros then people would have to claim the total amount from the Iceland scheme assume most keep within the £35k limit?

I think the most likely outcome is a buyout of the UK arm of the bank IMHO0
