Need to remove "Smart antivirus 2009"

How can I remove this from my pc? It Came through what I thought was a codec upgrade for media player.I have done a Google for instructions but to be honest I think most of the links are to other equally dangerous places.Would appreciate some help please..

I just use the Windows firewall and Avast antivirus.

Your on XP? if so you really need another firewall as the windows XP one is garbage.
Download COMODO (Untick all the extra toolbars etc that arnt needed when installing)

If Vista your ok (Though i still recommend comodo over it)

Yes I am on XP. Do I use this COMODO as well as or instead of the windows one??

It should auto switch the windows firewall off (If not, do it manually once its installed)
Its upto you if you have DEFENSE mode switched on, but your computer will be a lot safer if it is
