Tesco and the dodgy hoover

Two Saturdays ago I bought a hoover from Tesco.
Took it home and used it. Great bit of kit. Except for teh broken tools.

Took it back on Tuesday last to exchange the tools for some from a different box. Was happy to keep the hoover as it was 34.97 and good for the money.

They didn't have any in stock and couldn't confirm when they'd be getting more so I took their offer of a refund and said I'd just pop in again.

So last Saturday I found myself passing and went it. They'd had a delivery and so I pick on off the shelf.
Then it struck me.
Price change.
Now 39.71

So I went off to customer service and explained my case to the very helpful guy at the desk. He agreed with me that since I had the receipt for a refund that knocking a fiver off the price was entirely reasonable and he'd do it.
But he had to get it signed off from a manager...

So off he goes to see said manager who told was on her break and in his words, people didn't seem happy that he'd disturbed her (nb: no other managers on duty). She said no and I quote:

"Prices may go up and down, it's just unfortunate"

Well, the CS guy delivered the news and frankly seemed embarassed.
Told me that I should phone Tesco, gave me the number and I put my case to them.
Suffice to say I didn't buy it.
She obviously was too busy to come and talk to me either.

Phoned Tesco directly, they will be sending me a voucher direct from their office as even after they phoned the store to talk to the duty manager, the store were still unwilling to change their tune.

I put a complaint in an was told that the store manager would call to explain their actions but have not heard anything yet, so I guess I'll write them a letter.

So, three trips to buy a hoover which I still haven't got.

Every Little Helps (keep money in our pockets and offer poor service to our customers)

That was unlucky but to be fair the prices at Tesco do go down as well as up. I got some reduced Finest cotten sheets that were marked at a ridiculously low price fairly recently. Sheets are fab!
  • Dont Use Tescon's = Kicked them into touch.

    Plenty of other supermercado's
