Another one - item not received

I have been a seller on ebay for years but this time would like help as a buyer. I bought a handbag and it hasn't arrived. The buyer says she will give me the the proof of posting then as far as I can understand she wants me to wait till she is refunded by the Post office. Each time I have been in this situation as a seller I have believed them and refunded immediately. I have sent her the item not received bit on ebay but how long do I wait to put in a claim to paypal and how do I do that. I paid immediately by paypal. This has never happened to me before and I wonder if ebay is worth the bother. Sorry to be such a twit but can't afford to loose the £15 I have wasted on ebay.

  • Hi Grunnie,

She should refund you first, then make a claim from Royal Mail. If she is not willing to do this then open a dispute with Paypal.

Log in to Paypal and click on 'Resolution Centre'. Then follow the instructions.

If you need any more help just ask.

I have opened a dispute with paypal and she still insists that she should send me the proof of posting to claim from the PO. She seems to have no intention of giving me back my money.

No real advice; just sympathy. The seller I'm dealing with at the moment is quoting me the same line... she wants to claim from the PO and then refund me. Good luck getting your money back!

Well she's the one who posted it, so she needs to contact the post office to organise a refund. It has nothing to do with you!

    When was it posted?
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

If the seller is being dim then don't correspond with them anymore.make sure your dispute in paypal has been escalated to a full chargeback and just state no item received. Then the seller must either refund or prove delivery.

  • More sympathy -
I can't see why she doesn't do the decent thing, refund you and wait for the refund from the Post Office, its only a case of filling in one form and waiting a couple of weeks.
    Good luck.
