Prudential with-profit endowments

Throughout this present financial crisis I have not heard of anyone questioning possible problems with with-profit endowments. I have 4 policy's (for 19 - 25 years) with Prudential which have been doing very nicely over the years and I am not sure what effect the present situation will be having on them. They have 5 years left to run at which time I will be retiring so I do not wish to lose out at this late stage. It would be appreciated if someone could offer their interpretation on what effect this present financial situation could have on my policy's?

Pru do have a 100% record on hitting target (even Scot Am are in the 90% mark). So, not unexpected.I am not sure what effect the present situation will be having on them.
The Sept and Oct copy statments and data i have received for Pru endowments on my agency have seen values rise and projections increase. Bucking the trend somewhat but Pru did move a lot out of the markets last year into gilts and fixed interest and gilts have had a very good year (double digit returns) and that has helped reduce the losses compared to a heavily equity based fund.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
