250 Gb hard Drive showing only 125 Gb?!

AFAIK If the Win98 boot disk is used to just format the drive (format X:, it can format up to the FAT32 size limit of 2TB or so.
As an operating system Win98 itself wont recognise over about 137GB in any one partitionI no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0 -

If you don't have a Windows XP installation CD which includes either Service Pack 1 or 2 - and intend to install from scratch - you can follow the instructions here to produce a disc which includes SP2.0 -
You need to install the service packs, XP won't show HD's about 125-127GB without them.0
