Washing Machine is sticking mid-cycle

I hope someone on here can help me as I am at my wits end with my washing machine
No matter what programe I use on my washing machine, it always seems to stop within about 30-45 minutes. The only way I can then get it to complete the cycle is to click the dial forward. I've also noticed that it doesn't seem to wash my clothes as well.
I was wondering if it was maybe something to do with the water not reaching the correct temperature because I've also noticed that if I touch the glass part of the door when the machine is "washing" my clothes it feels very cold.
Any ideas on what might be wrong and how much any new parts may cost?

Is the hot water coming into the compartment & taking the powder away.Either way it sounds like a heating problem & the heater element may be blown.0

Try cleaning out the filter. Mine had a penny stuck in it and it and parts of a chewed up sock. It affected how the water was draining and therefore didn't fill up properly or wash the clothes well. HTH0

Hi Gayle,
Have a look at this website: www.washerhelp.com They have a very helpful section on washing machine repairs.

Thanks chocomonsta, I'll definitely have a look in the filter and see if there is anything lurking in there that shouldn't be!0
