Icesave/Kaupthing - is Martin to blame?

Hi Wes88,
Deleting posts is a matter for the abuse team's discretion. As MSE Forum Manager points out, we have let a lot go in the past few days that normally would have been taken down.
Out of 31 May's 24 posts, one has been deleted. It is not a case of cherry picking. His 'satire' was, in my opinion at least, both false and misleading in parts.
I'd also like to say at this point that Martin and the whole MSE team here is working extremely hard to keep the site up to date for worried savers, make sure you can all hold these debates (both in terms of moderation and keeping the forum working due to unprecedented traffic to one board!) alongside all the other multitude of things we deal with every week - there has been the largest PPI misselling fine ever and a Bank Charges court case verdict this week too.
We are very happy for open debate, but in the light of the above, and in the interests of common courteousy, we have to request that posts be kept polite and do not resort to personal attacks.
I hope this is understandable, and thanks for your contributions so far

And to leave his c*nt post up is unfair .. let his posts stand or delete them .. but dont cherry pick which bits you will leave up
I think that's a completely fair point on review and i have removed the comments.
On a side note, this isn't a public forum. It's privately owned and thus there is no "free speech" as such here. We do our very best to allow debate, but we try and keep things (especially money based and especially situations like this) fact based. You agreed to these Terms and Conditions when you signed up.
You can disagree with our policy (we even have a specific board to allow people to do that - not many do), Martin's views and, in this case, whether you believe the warning was prominent enough. We have no problem with any of that and have left almost all content on Icesave up as long as it's civil opinion, good or bad . However, once we move into personal comments and "satire" in this way, it's not what we're about.
I'm sorry if you disagree but there are a lot of people who have, and still are, desperate to get hold of their money and ensure it's safe. These are the people we are focusing our resources on.

In my opinion there are many people and organisations who ought to take a long hard look at their actions over this whole affair - including the Icelandic government, Gordon Brown, the Treasury, the FSA, UK depositors, MSE's Icelandic banks apologists AND Martin Lewis.
Many of them should hang their heads in shame ................................. but they won't - with all the usual bluff and bluster they will wriggle their way out of their responsibilities, spin and gloss their pronouncements on the subject, wash their hands of the whole sorry matter and then point the finger of blame at somebody else.0
