It's hard to maintain a high feedback even if you have sold 100's of items, without looking after your customers. It only takes a couple of idiots to start knocking your percentage down. As a PowerSeller I can't even Neg the idiots that bid & win and then don't pay, because they can Neg even though they not purchased the item. So you relist and hope they don't decide to Neg you for fun.

I am not a power seller and have well in excess of 1500 positives on my main id alone (no neut no negs). I don't think a power seller status gives any better indication of whether a seller is good or not, it is as you say the feedback that shows that, and not just negs either. Some positives can be very revealing. Some one can be a power seller by just shifting a couple of large value items a month, whereas some of us on here shift lots of items every week and are not power sellers as we sell low cost items, so watch the items, watch what has been sold in the past and make your decisions based on that rather than any power seller logo.

We do have some power sellers on here with very good reputations, but those power sellers have worked hard to get that reputation and it is their reputation that is vital to them, not the power seller status I'm sure.

    no worries slim!

yes i am self employed and yes i am registered with the inland revenue and they do know about my ebay because i'm counting those hours towards me being self employed for my working tax credit!

sorry if i sounded edgy, i'm really irritated with dodgy sellers on ebay and very quck to disassociate myself with people selling fakes. i do my duty and report piraters etc... i think i'm extra careful about the legal side of things because i'm an american ex-pat... really need to get around to getting my citzenship so i can stop having this tiny wee worry at the back of my mind that the inland revenue will deport me for some minor infringment :rotfl:
