I am sorry- I am not posting an offer here and apologise to everyone who may have suddenly clicked and scrolled down to see 'just in case'!

    I have a question:
A very well meaning relative has bought me a pair of Ugg style boots (Fitflops) and I have two options; black or chestnut. (The difference is the black is not in stock for 2 weeks so I'd have to wait, the Chestnut + recipet is what I have.)

I like the chestnut, they look good -at the moment! But does anyone have any beige or chestnut coloured Ugg style boots? (or even Fitflops?) do they look really bad when they get dirty? does the white fur look really mangy? are they easy to clean?- the white insides included?

Thanks to anyone who can help- I have these really cute boots in front of me and its hard to know what to do- ideally these would last me at least a year if not longer!
  • Us old surfers have been wearing these for donkey's years - I got my first pair back in the eighties. It's funny how city types see them as a girl's boot. Anyway, I can recommend the real UK (and actually the original) Ugg boot, still made down in Cornwall - they were alway's called "UGG" there too, until they got trendy - then the firm had to change their name. Get 'em via here:

    celtic-sheepskin dot co dot uk

Here's some quotes from their site - pretty interesting:
"We do not sell the brand known as UGG Australia, which is owned by Deckers Outdoor Corporation. However, before we re-branded as The Celtic Sheepskin Co. we were called The Original UGG Boot Co. making and selling UGG boots in the UK.

"In 1996 we licensed our UK UGG trademark to the Deckers Outdoor Corporation with an option to buy at a later date. The term UGG is now registered to the Deckers Outdoor Corporation.
"Our boots are branded as Celt Boots and are handmade in our own factory in Newquay, Cornwall using 100% real sheepskins..."

"It's not absolutely clear where the term Ugg originated, however, we believe “Ugg Boot” is a generic term that first originated in Australia and was used to describe the style of Sheepskin Boots worn by surfers to keep their feet warm after spending hours in the sea. These surfers, travelling the world in search of the perfect wave, brought the Ugg boot to Newquay in Cornwall in about 1973. Ever since then, Ugg boots have been made in Newquay..."

Am I alone in feeling your post is somewhat suspect after Pulliptears caught out a celtic sheepskin promoter (above) and now a newbie comes on here posting the above from the website?

Sorry but as a result of both I am now dead against getting a pair of Celtic Sheepskin boots- it just feels odd that newbies are advertising, older posters are only visiting once a year to repost the same messages (advertising).

It just gets me- the best they could have done was let real customers do the advertising.
  • My daughter has decided she wants some Bailey Button Uggs for Xmas.
I would really like to get these as cheap as possible so if anyone knows of offers or discounts on these please let me know.

Tried to get on shudoo website, wouldn't load

    Thanks

  • Having just searched LEEBIE58's posts I see an almost identical one from 2007.

I have to say Celtic I am VERY disappointed in you. Throughout these forums we have always said that Celtic were a good brand and the fact that you feel the need to send someone here to 'big up' your company by telling lies and half truths has probably damaged your reputation here more than you know.

A big thumbs down to Celtic Sheepskin from me.

PT, my name's Karl Headleand, I'm General Manager at Celtic Sheepskin.

As far as I know, that's a customer and it's certainly not a sanctioned member of staff posting incognito. Would we really get the facts wrong posting about the history of our own brand? I'd hope not.

Jennie, you're quite right, the advertising on this, and other forums (fora?) should be left to customers, that's why I've only ever posted on here once before; correcting an issue where a website very similar to one of ours was being incorrectly linked to us.

I can say, hand on heart, that we do not falsely post as customers. Without trying to sound conceited, read what some of the genuine members on MSE have said about us, it's fantastic, we really don't need to add false posts.

Unfortunately, there's very little I can say that does not sound like I'm trying to dig us out of a hole. I'm not :) We have some extremely faithful customers who love to sing our praises.

  • If you are size 5 or under go to very online as you can get the childrens uggs upto size 5 at half the adult price. I recently got the new Ugg Palermo for £100 where the adults are £200 a pair. They also have classic short and cardy's in kids upto size 5.

I thought Uggs only went to a child size 3?

They do only go to a 3, I have already checked with UGG Australia as I though a shop was being devious!
  • Hi - I'm after a pair of Ugg classic boots for the other half for Xmas, and came across voguebootstore.

They seem a little too cheap. As I've always believed that if it seems too good to be true, then it probably is, I'd love for someone to tell me that they are legit and reputable - and that I have a suspicious mind.
