How much to move a boiler?

Options
Hi there,

I am not sure if anybody will have the answer to that one but my combi boiler is in the kitchen and I would like to move it further down the same wall as the one it's on now. It would need to be moved about 4 metres down the wall.

Anybody would have a rough idea on how much it would cost. I'll probably have it done if it's a few hundred pounds but not if it's nearer a thousand.

Thanks

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Its always hard to give a price, but if its going 4 metres along the wall, assuming no obstructions and that the pipes are just clipped to the wall you would be looking at ( )

    4m pipe @ 15mm * 2(?) = 20
    4m pipe @ 22mm * 3(?) = 48
    4m pipe (overflow) = 2
    Fittings (nominal) = 10
    Time for above (3hrs ?) = 90(?)
Move & rehang boiler (1 hr - assume no electrics to be done?) = 30
    Refit flue (if possible? 1hr) = 30
Drain down, flush (?) and refill (2hrs? more if flush) = 60?

    Total = 292 so around 300

I'm not a plumber so not sure how accurate the above is..

Edit: forgot inhibitor and not sure how accurate the hourly rate is or if I've included enough for fittings etc... so maybe allow 400....

Good afternoon: The cost would be dependent on the results of a site survey eg. flueing requirements could add considerable £££ to the quote. A RGI would be best placed to give you a price after a visit to your property.

Thank you both for your reply. I guess i really need to get somebody to come and have a look to give a quote.

What is an RGI, the link doesn't seem to be working.

    Thanks

  • Also, do not forget the cost of making good the wall where the boiler used to be. Probably be a big hole in the wall where a flue went though to outside.

Fill the hole, replaster inside, paint, etc. Outside ... depends on if it matters how it looks - make good hole, chase in new bricks, rerender etc?

FWIW - I paid about £550 to have a boiler removed from one room and a new boiler fitted in another room about 2 metres away - that includes misc fittings and pipes but no parts for boiler or flue.
