Brandford and Bingley E-saver 3 - Worth it

I want to put about £10k from a barclays esaver reward into the 6.51% bradford and bingley esaver issue 3 - It is worth it or should i leave the cash where it is.

I presume that B&B is pretty much safe now, but hearing news that there savings rate will drop like a stone in the next few months. Doesnt seem to have any penalties for withdrawals.

  • BB is now part of the Santander group, its as safe as it can be. i have just put a large amount in there.

NatWest have a 6.5% which is good. Otherwise Kaupthing Edge is still a good place to put your cash! Fully FSCS covered.

Thanks Sparky for quick reply, I have a maxed out isa and the 10k is what i prepared to put away in a seperate company. I was just worried that satander will just drop the rates in a few months time. Guess will have to see, did the online application on sunday.

Yes that could be possible, but at the moment i would be going for a safe deposit more than trying to get a few extra pounds interest, later when it all gets sorted then go for the extra. good luck.

I am thinking of opening one of these accounts online, how long does it take to be up and running?

I just recently opened a KE account and have £1 in it (just checking i could transfer). I am waiting to see what happens before i consider closing it.
  • I opened one about a month ago, and it took around 4 working days to get the paperwork in the post. Thought that was very quick. I was a new B&B customer.

Obviously this is experience from before the Savings business transferred to Santander, however as far as I can tell as a customer, nothing has changed over the last month, i.e. call centre, Online banking etc.

    Hope this helps.
