Frozen Bank Account

Hi all

Hope someone can help i have a british bank account that has been frozen now by italian police for the past couple of years which has over £50,000 in.

Does anyone know if the money in this account is safeguarded or would i have to speak to the relevant authorities about moving the money to a secure account ie Northern Rock, Bank of Ireland. (if this is possible)

Strange thread i know but hope somebody has some ideas.

Thanks

Can the Italians really freeze a UK bank account?

The chances are you worrying for no reason, many people are worried about banks going bust just because they watch too much TV.

Its with Barclays at the moment i know alot of it is just scaremongering but it is a significant amount of money well above the £50000 that is secure. Just wondered if anyone knew if a frozen bank account would be safe.

You are worried about Barclays going bust???
Well, if Barclays goes bust then money is the least of anyones problems to be honest... If even such a lion as Barlclays goes that would be the beginning of new age... Probably looking like something from those apocalyptic movies...
  • Barclays going bust? Britain's biggest bank? With money into the trillions? You'll be fine :):T
