My friend has Vista on her laptop (I only run XP, so can't help her).
When she starts up the laptop, a voice comes on and starts what sounds like an intro to Vista, can someone please tell me how to switch this voice thing off, we had a look in control panel and then start up menus, but I don't know which box to untick, does anyone know what the thing I am talking about is called.
Many thanks for your help.

I don't use Vista either but easily found this: Narrator is found under Start > Programmes > Accessories > Accessibility > Narrator. It can be controlled via the dialogue box. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

Many thanks for your help, I'm not very technical I'm afraid and you've just proved it:D"Wisdom doesn't automatically come with old age. Nothing does, except wrinkles. It's true, some wines improve with age. But only if the grapes were good in the first place." — Abigail Van Buren0
