Considering using this as my savings account as the interest rate is great! Has anyone had experience with this account or know how safe it is at the current time?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Applied online to open an AA 7.21% FRB for £25k, and as I'm an existing saver with them it stated that there was no need to send a cheque, they would take my deposit via direct debit. At end of process they stated the deposit would be taken 20/10/08 for £3k (not £25k). Phoned helpline, agreed there was a problem, told me to send a cheque for £25k instead ... but that they could do nothing about the pending payment and they might take £3k more on 20th ... but don't worry, they'd pay me back! But as I won't have an extra £3k in my current account then, that may take me overdrawn ...
However, my wife has also opened an account there, and as a new saver with the AA she "started from scratch" and had to send a cheque. Took about a week, all sorted okay now.
Hope this helps.0 -
Received login details and got online today, although the AA website says: 'The deposit-taker for the AA savings accounts is Birmingham Midshires, a division of Bank of Scotland plc, which is authorised for accepting deposits by the Financial Services Authority.' but the sort code 20-97-78 they ask you to send payment to actually belongs to Barclays, why?
Vodafone sucks. :mad:0
