Office to Word Word to Office Help!

I have Vista on my pc, with Microsoft Office; I have been emailing stuff from work to let me work at home but the docs are not downloading in the same format, tables etc are all over the place. I have used "save as" in 93-2007 which lets me see the docs but in some cases when I email them back to my office pc they are all over the place again. Any help would be appreciated.

What versions of word do you have at work and at home?

Just save in an earlier compatible version e.g. not 93-2007.

  • I don't have Word on my pc, only Office, sorry if I appear stupid, but not too computer literate!

When you save files using Office, save them as .doc and not the default Office format.

I had a similar issue, emailing a document to another user of Office 2007, in the end I had to alter their margins for the document to be viewed correctly.
My suggestion and/or advice is my own and it is up to you if you follow it, please check the advice given before acting on it.

Do keep awake at the back! The OP is obviously referring to Open Office.
