Part of the Furniture 100 Posts Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
Remember, that even if you get tickets, it does not guarantee entry. These shows are always heavily over subscribed,so on the day, entry is a first come, first in basis. People often have to arrive many hours in advance and queue all day to make sure they get in.

Im only saying this as my friend got tickets last year and was realy excited, but was then then gutted when she got there and saw hundreds of people in front of her in the queue and she did'nt get in.

they do the same with big brother tickets.. its a way of making sure they have a large crowd or a full house, big brother they were queing for 5 or 6 hours before hand :confused:

We got tickets the year Leona won and it was a nightmare. We queued for ages- it was a relatively small queue and we were sure we would get in, despite lots of people pushing in. So annoying. It got to about 10 mins before airing and the queue started to move. But there were still 'VIP's' arriving (like BBs Grace! ) which meant we had to wait. There were six of us and when we got to the front- they only had room for 4!! My friends said they would leave as I had got the tickets and we were with my in laws. They were gutted. Once in they made us run for our seats (missed the first two songs!)- the woman in front tripped on cable leads and broke her glasses. Later saw her on crutches.
We were given coloured wrist bands and during the breaks you were 'allowed' to use the loos according to what colour you were. Our colour never got called- so from standing in line to sitting through the whole show, we never used the loo! When the show finished we were all told to leave the builiding immediately so we still weren't allowed to use the loo! I wasnt having that so I told them that they can't make us hold it and off we went!

  • Good luck!

I've applied for these shows so many times and then heard nothing again - particularly for X Factor and the Ice Dancing & Strictly Come Dancing shows )obviously incredibly popular). I think it helps if you live near London (though I could be wrong!!). Sometimes those who live further away get priority tickets.

I've been to a few shows and you do need to get there early as like the previous posters have said, there's lots of VIPs that get in before you. Consider this if you're travelling some distance.

I queued for strictly dance fever and there were so many family members for each act that we didnt think we'd get in (but did luckily!).

If you do get in though, it's great fun. I used to go to Top of the Pops loads and it was brilliant. You do have to hang around an awful long time - I havent been to a live show though so cant comment on that.

So it is better to stay at home, eat and drink merrily and go to the loo when you want without fear of breaking your glasses!

Infamy! Infamy! They've all got it in for me!
    :hello:

Jeeze! I know the tickets are free but that's shocking treatment. I've always wanted to go to a live show but I think their system sucks. I'd rather stay at home. :D
  • I got all excited. Now I think I won't bother. Thank you OP and thank you everyone for letting me know about your bad experience(s).

It reminds me of going to the Central studio's in Birmingham to watch the recording of Friday Night Live (a local audience chat type of show where local people commented on different subjects) The people who actually spoke were planted in the audience, sat of pieces of A4 paper which had already been placed on the seats to make sure us mortals never sat there....

They kept telling us about the food and drink we were going to have after the show at a party we were all invited to.

After the show they herded us to the door (where the party was! _party_ ) and I ran into a toilet I managed to spot on the way. (I'm always needing the loo). Anyway, when I came out a gentleman seemed very annoyed I was still there and encouraged me out of the door (where everyone else had gone before me) and I suddenly and shockingly found myself in the car park... :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
