Hi All
Just a quick question – Recently installed a wireless alarm system in my house. For the doors I have some plastic magnetic contacts. These contacts were supplied with double sided foam pads to stick them to the UPVC door frames. After a couple of days the contacts fell off.
Whats the best way to stick these plastics contacts to UPVC. The supplier reckons I should try Tak Screws – Is it a good idea to screw into UPVC. A friend suggested contact adhesive. I’m thinking something like No Nails. I need something that is going to last and not be effected by heat from the sun or moisture build up.
Any ideas..
Regards

Get some more of the sticky pads and before applying to the door frame use some form of achohol to clean the surface before appling the pad.0

If it falls off when you're out, it's going to keep setting the alarm off. Just screw it into the frame with a couple of small self tapping screws. As long as you keep away from the glass parts using short screws or keeping a cm away, there will be no problem fixing in this way.Signature on holiday for two weeks0
