Paypal actually listened!!

Sold an item, £5.99 plus £1.99 Airmail, to Spain.
No comms from buyer. Paypal dispute started 3 weeks later and immediately escalated to a claim by the buyer. I look at buyers feedback recieved - all positive. Then I look at feedback left.......about 50% of feedback left is a negative for the seller saying 'item never received' for transactions since the feedback changes in May (i.e. when he cannot be negged back).
First thought OMG....Im going to get my first negative, second thought....this guy is a scammer and I cannot do anything about it.
I emailed our Paypal account manager pointing out all the negatives left by the buyer and that these must all have been Paypal non receipt claims and therefore it isnt credible. If he has such a bad experience buying on eBay and not receiving things surely he wouldnt keep buying. Also point out no comms from buyer and Paypal dispute was escalated to a claim immediately with no time for me to respond.
Result...........they report it to their fraud team and 6 hours later the buyer is No Longer a Registered User on eBay! All the negs they have left have gone too. This was 2 weeks ago and Paypal account manager has confirmed they will not be reinstated and that Paypal account has been closed too.
Must say I was absolutely amazed. Paypal actually listened and took action! They did say there are new algorithms coming in to spot people making regular Paypal claims which should stop this sort of behaviour.

It's a shame it takes someone with an "account manager" to get this sort of thing to happen. It aint gonna start happening on a regular basis I'm afraid.0

Not so sure that they would be so helpful to someone without an account manager.
It is about time paypal started acting on buyers who make bogus "item not received" claims.0 -
You should count yourself ectremley lucky, I've been fighting with Paypoo for almost 4 weeks now to access my money seeing as they have limited my account access.
have provided all the details required and each time they put another blocker in the way. the latest is linking my account to 1 my oh opened that has a neg balance. Hopefully am now going to get the account limits lifted as I've just threatened them with Data Protection Act after receiving details regarding the 'other' account.
Court action, FSA & Financial Ombudsman threats have come up with nothing. Paypoo think they are above the lawWin £2009 in 2009 - £300 (Absolute Radio, Pay Your Bills)

They have just listened to me as well and I have had a refund and an apology, I'm not a powerseller and I don't have an account manager.
Mine was to do with the false claim for fraudulent use of a card made against me, I got my original money back after a fght but insisted I also got back the £7 charge they levied for fighting the claim (huh!). I realised quite quickly that they said anything on the phone just to get rid of you so I opened a complaint with paypal themselves and have been fighting that with them for about a month now and have finally had my £7 back with an apology that it took them so long. They still insist the £7 was taken correctly but say the refund was made as a good will gesture as they believe I had been given misinformation on the phone and by email.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
