Their lack of an explanation is just causing more panic.

Some people like panicking. I'm glad they've done it, it stops all this stampede nonsense

    Stupid glib comment.

People are pannicking with good reason. Dismissing their fears demonstrates a lack of insight on your part.

According to the Icesave customer service people the website is down for ongoing maintenance and IT are working on it - will take that with a grain of salt!

They're not processing payments over the phone (not sure they've ever been able to do that) so not much point in calling.

Nobody's saying it, but to close the website is to admit that there's a run going on, which is pretty much a death knell for the business as an ongoing concern.

Nope, no luck on the phone.

I can log-in to the website though. I can see my money, I just can't get it!

Yes. I was told it's an IT problem, has been since last night and IT are working on it. I questioned that and said it was more likely linked to problems with Icelandic banks and she issued the party line that the bank is sound etc.

Seems like there's a bit of a run on, but they won't let you process any deposits/withdrawals over the phone so not a lot you can do.
