Have recently initiated a switch for my electricity supply from Scottish Hydro electric to E-on. Was going fine until I got a letter from Hydro saying and I quote "We cannot let you leave at this time as the new supplier has not registered all the supply numbers associated wirh my meter".
I have given all the info that E-on asked for-is Hydro just being difficult or is there something else I should be doing?
I need to get away from Hydro ASAP as they are charging me a fortune.
Thanks in advance for any advice

I guess it's a special tariff that Hydro have? How did you set the switch going? If you did it online it's likely that you have a 2 mpan (like a postcode for your elec supply) supply but only registered one.
If your tariff with Hydro has a special name call Eon and make sure you have one of your existing bills to hane. Make sure you get the Eon agent to understand you have 2 meter point references (I'm assuming that's the case). See if they can do it. However if you have specific tariffs you may be unable to switch - I know one of the Scottish ones is Comfort Plus.0 -
Thanks for that, and yep, you are right-have just called to check. Will make it very difficult to switch now I think, to find someone who will have a similar tarriff to cover 2 points

Eon can accept 2 mpan supplies although it may be better to investigate changing to an Economy 7 meter with Hydro first, then switching. You have to take into account what you would be losing on your existing tariff (special rates in the day etc) before you should consider any kind of change.0

I rue the day I ever decided to switch. The comparison site told me I would be better off with BG (this was just before price hikes - I know - dumbo), but there was so much panic and hype about I just thought I should have a go.
I am with EDF. BG wrote and told me they had raised an objection to me switching, wherupon I found I had 2 supply numbers and BG only had one of them. When I phoned BG with this information they told me I would be much worse off with them for my electricity - up to 80%. She told me not to give the number and eventually the whole thing would phase out.
Sadly my gas had gone through to BG but was then told I would have to pay more for my fuel as I will no longer be dual fuel! So after all this palaver, I am with BG for one month and then the contract goes back to EDF.
I have had BG at my door and on the phone. It feels like a foolish mistake that just wont go away!
I would really think very hard about switching providers after all this. Better the devil you know (in my case!).Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01
