Cheapy car hire
I'm coming back to the UK for a visit in May next year and will want to book a car for probably three or four weeks....

probably cheaper to get a mate to buy a nice car for 2k then sell it on again, might make a £500 loss buts its cheaper!0

Depends where you're coming to. The South East has a hire firm called Hampsons who I've used several times to hire vans from. They have a website and you can book that way.
They're a reputable company - beware of very cheap hire firms who 'look' cheap as they quite often cut corners and you may not be insured, or the vehicle may not be taxed or have a current MOT, for example.0 -
