Depends on how well you deal with repugnant toads who are so far up their own backsides they look like a russian doll at an autopsy..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)
"We were born and raised in a summer haze." Adele 'Someone like you.'
"Blowing your mind, 'cause you know what you'll find, when you're looking for things in the sky." OMD 'Julia's Song'0 -

are you only temping? or are you back under a contract...?
Does the back ache seriously affect your ability to do the job? and is it a long term back problem?
I would doubt they could just sack you, unless they are a really dodgy small company but they may well try to "manage you out of the job"
I'm trying to be logical here in answering but i don't really know the ins and outs of the law.....
when you say they are being difficult, in what way? It might be worth heading them off by asking them how they want to handle things, do they want to refer you to occy health or anything? show willingness to co-operate.. altho i'm sure a GP letter should cover you...
it's not as though you are likely to be getting full pay, are you?I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
