COMET/GE CAPITAL faulty goods

I bought an electrical item at the weekend, returned it on the monday as it was faulty, store would not exchanged insisted it was not faulty. (no other reason I would have returned item or returned so quickly). I rejected the goods as they where faulty this was less than 24 hours after purchase. The finance company where made aware I did not have the goods as they where left at the store they cancelled the transaction and then re-added it the next month. Top and bottom of it is they still want me to pay for goods I do not have (the store has them). They say it is my word (and a witness) against the store persons that the goods where not faulty.
Where do my rights ie sale of goods, consumer credit etc come in to this.
I have no goods to pay for!

Did you boot it up and show them the fault to prove it?
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

this is all too vague. if it's faulty, they are entitled to repair it, you are not entitled to a refund.

    what is the fault?
Remember the time he ate my goldfish? And you lied and said I never had goldfish. Then why did I have the bowl Bart? Why did I have the bowl?

Not if the fault was present from the start. OP states it was returned within 24 hours so he was entitled to a refund.

Its all a bit too vague though.
