savings guarantee, interest included?

First time I've ever posted on a forum of any kind so if I sound naive please excuse me. Like a lot of people on this forum I have savings which I am concerned about. I feel better with the government guarantee of up to £50000 but does this include any interest accrued or just the initial capital? For example if you had £10000 in a 1 year fixed bond savings account and had to rely on the guarantee say a month before the bond term ended would the interest be guaranteed? Thanks

Interest included in cash savings (don't know about bonds).

bonds are not bonds. They are misnamed fixed term deposits. So deposit protection applies. Proper bonds fall under investments or insurance protection depending on whether you have them unwrapped or wrapped.
