Mail Order!! No Help....

i had a call today from one of my cataloges thats "passed"my details on to a collection dept for the £86 arrears i owe. i had the usuall can i pay it off today bring my account up to date? no i replied but i did send a letter to yourselves last month saying that i will be paying £10 a month, she says we cant except that , i said well its all i can afford what else do you sujest i do? we can pass you to another dept they can set up a long term plan of payments @ 39.9% ,so my bill be going up, no way i said that isnt helping me is it? well she says your details will be SOLD to an outside debt recovery ppl then. ohh i get it you dont want to help me you want to make more money out of my debt im in......either setting up the high intreast bill or have a debt collection deal with it. so if this went to court and i could prove i can only pay £10 a month where has this got you?? she didnt have an answer to that. i ended up haveing to hang up on her giveing me the speech on company policy blah blah!!!!!!!. so anyone out there that can give me advice please?? im very peeed offf..............:mad:

Well I'd send them a nice little letter reminding them that you have in writing on x date advised them about your financial difficulty and they have infact breached the law by encouraging you to take out additional debt on todays date to clear your current debts and you will appreciate it if they do not contact you again unless in writing and that you have also forwarded a copy of this letter to the financial ombudsman
