Hi all
Does anyone know of any software that will enable me to track when an e-mail was read at all?
ie I send an e-mail and the software records when/where the mail was opened/read by the recipient (anonynously).
I would prefer something that`s freeware, but a 30day free trial of something would do just as well.
Thanks
Mark

Not possible. Some email programs support delivery receipts but not all. And even if they do, it is optional to send the delivery report.0 -
Found what I wanted
It`s the 25mail/14day (whichever comes first) trial of

Here's a couple:

The last one I got from http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/2886238/E-mail-tracker-firm-sparks-fears-over-internet-security.html
There is quite a bit of info if you google email tracker, some are programs and some say its an urban myth!
I've been on McAfee Siteadvisor for the the first two and it looks like a piece of adware is downloaded onto the recripicant's pc so that their actions can be tracked. That meand once they run a program to get rid of adware (or if it is blocked) you will stop getting any alerts.0 -

It will work by inserting a small (invisible) image into the email that you are sending. Almost all email clients (and webmail accounts) now block images by default (requiring you to click a button to see them), so it is not a great deal of use. Your also going to be sending your email to a 3rd party before it gets to your recipient.
Like I said - there is no foolproof way of doing what you want.0
