Shortcut keys - HELP!

OK, I don't know how we have managed to do this or why it keeps happening but it is bloomin annoying.

Whilst typing away, in the last month, if I am typing a reply to a thread on here, or on any other website, I press certain keys and it opens new tabs, starts underlining things, brings up the find box. I haven't intentionally done anything that I can think of that would make this happen. It gets annoying because as a qualified secretary, I can type at 100 words a minute and I know that "normally" in word etc, pressing Ctrl and U would cause the underline function to come on, but I am not pressing that, I am just pressing the normal keys and strange things keep happening.

Any ideas?

First guess would be a keyboard fault. If it's a desktop PC, have you tried borrowing another keyboard and tested that?

Well initially it sounded like the Alt key was intermittently sticking, but if it only happens with your browser, and not with other programs then it can't realistically be a keyboard problem.

If it is only browser-related, perhaps you have had something (e.g. a Browser Helper Object) installed that is not behaving properly.

Have you tried downloading and using an alternative browser such as Firefox to see if the problem exists with that?
