Hello....
Discussed things at length with CCCS. There is a possiility of having an IPA attached but even then its less than my DMP...the difference could enable me to escape this horrible area. I apprecaiate that my credit history could be wrecked for 6 years...but at the moment I can't get credit for 10 years, even if I wanted any...it SEEMS that its the lesser of 2 evils just now...
Been advised to open a Basic account with Co-op...can't open one with Barclays as they are one of my creditors... Is it best to open it before going b/r or afterwards? How can I avoid having to have keycards for utilities? I've been assured that the chances of having my home turned over by Receivers is minimal...is that true?? (they wouldn't get much)
What did other people do to minimise the pain of it...?0 -
hello mercian.
alot of people on here had barcleys as a creditor and still managed to open an account so worth a try. i opened my co op one just before br and told the OR it was opened for post br he said fine he will tell them he has no interest and used it as normal.
i didnt get put on a prepay for gas/elec i know some people have. i had a energy company as a creditor but was about to switch but obviously untill arrears are payed they dont let you go but i dont know whever my new company knows ive gone br as i havent told them and they havent said anything and i can pay quarterly.
the OR wont come to your house and mooch about to see if you telling the truth they take your word for it but remeber they have access to your accounts so if you have just payed 1k for a new tele or a car that you havent declared they will see it.
any more questions just ask

I'm all paid up to utilities and council tax etc...its loans that I owe on. Should I change utility companies on day of bankruptcy or something? Can a Basic account do direct debits? Finding whole thing so incredibly stressful just now...just wish it could be over one way or another.0
-
Nothing to stop you changing utility providers before BR as long as accounts are up to date no debts etc.....
a basic account can do direct debits no probs...with the co-op it was a quick phonecall to set up easy enoughWe all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0 -
na you dont need to change but as i said some have got abit funny even when thye were up to date and asked for them to go on a prepay but you do not need to notify them so just dont tell them.
ive got a co op and that does DD. and had no problems. also if you apply for them just sign the switchover letter that comes with it and it will sort out all your dd and payments.
it is quite stressful making sure everythings sorted out for br and post br but after that you can relax. i went br 18 dec and apart from the issue with my car(not allowed then allowed) everything has been great, i actuly look forward to postman now as i normally get goodies instead of bills lol.
