Hi All, My partner who is female 62 has just had to give up her job as her old bones wont take anymore,. she gets state and a small private pension of £32 per month.
The question is could she claim any benefeits for having to give up her work as the firm she worked for would have let her stay until 70?
She has arthritis in her hands and feet and has been under the docs for years,
Thanks for reading post

P.S Can she claim a tax rebate as she has now finished work?

Pension Credit, possibly qualify for DLA depending on the severity of her condition, housing benefit if she rents, council tax benefit.
She can't really claim a tax refund until the end of the financial year.0 -
Hi smudger. Your partner won't be penalised for finishing work as she's over pension age. However any entitlement to means tested benefits depends on your income (assuming you live together).
As Conor says she should possibly claim DLA depending on her condition.I'll get you, my pretty, and your little dog too!0 -
pension credit is the 1st one you want to claim0
