BG are a bunch of t*ssers.

I changed supplier so they sent me a final bill addressed to 'the occupier' they sent me a wrong final bill so I called them and gave them the right readings. Having waited a couple of weeks for it I finally got it on Saturday. I opened the envelope yesterday.

Today I've received a letter from 'The Litigation Co' telling me I have a final demand and from 08/04/08 for that exact amount - we moved here at the end of May and gave them all the readings - I have 7 days to pay and I have to 'call them immediately' oh yes, on the 0870 number.

So I need an alternative number, any ideas? sayno does not come up with anything.

I am fuming with their crap and dismal service because we decided to leave!! Whats more the end readings they had for previous occupier were the same as our start readings so clearly no gas used between them sending that person the bill before we moved in, but they have deliberately dated this letter to look like we have not paid for 6 months.

The bill is for only £30! And I have to ring 0870 so they can screw more money out of me because I decided to leave.

Fuming is beyond words!!!!!!!

PS. Kids party later so might not post back til tomorrow, thanks.

When you change supplier your existing supplier has to use final readings that are given to them by your new supplier. Even though you told them the correct reading they can't change it unless your new supplier informs them of a new reading - this is to ensure that the two companies bills follow on from each other.

If you're paying BG an extra £30 then it means that your new supplier will charge you £30 less for gas that you used with them.

I hope I've got the right end of the stick with what you are saying and if so, ignoring BG CS it is probably best just to pay and move on. If you phone BG on a geographic number they should be able to get the "account back" and take payment.

    hi terry,

No, I called them with my last readings, SP told me to as I had received a letter from BG saying I had to call them (SP did E-on for me) and this was when they tried to get me to stay by telling me, after I said I had not capped, that prices were going up again in Feb!

I've had a look at the bills, they have changed form my name to 'The Occupier' around the same time the switch would have started going through (and I mentioned this before on this forum) so I cannot pay online, I have to call by phone to pay on 0870. I've been trying to call BG payments line but no joy in getting through. I wonder if they have a register of the number as I had to enter that. I've noticed that I can send a cheque so I am going to do that. I am really annoyed with their snidey tactics though because I changed supplier. I've also noticed that last payment was August but they are saying April.

I think I am well rid, will not be going back to them in a hurry that is for usre!!
