Yep, as other poster has said - there are ways to save money on food bills. I now shop in Lidl and already save money and eat well and I can afford some occasional extra treats which I couldn't do before as I am spending less overall on food. I manage to live on a maximum of £70 per month, ok, it is just me and my 2 cats but it can be done for less, I'm sure. Cleaning products don't need to be bought every week and I rely on good old bleach and cheap products, they probably do the same as the "named" brands anyway.

My job is no where near the same as yours but I worked in Financial Services for 12 years as an advisor (rubbish with my dosh but good with others!) and got made redundant. Although, I received a lump sum redundancy payment, it was not enough to clear off my debts (yikes!) so I made F&F on some of my debts. However, I still have debts that need paying.

I've registered with loads of agencies and have got a temp admin job. It keeps the wolf from the door and keeps me ticking along. It's not what I want to do but it's better than nothing at all. I told the agencies that I was flexible in terms of temp work as I needed the money so they've kept me in work since August. Also, if I find a company I would like to work for whilst temping then I already have my foot in the door.

Chin up - and well done for posting on here.

  • Well that's Sky gone - but they've actually let me keep the kids channels until January for free ! Just need to make a note to phone them back at the end of November to cancel them - result ! Thanks to the people who said you still get the freeview channels thorugh the box when you cancel it - I didn't know that and you do still get quite a few !! Now, time to get that job !! Off to see another couple of agencies tomorow ...

It's amazing what you can acchieve really and once you feel positive you will find it easier to find jobs too - a positive "can do" attitude goes a long way in interviews :)
