Ebay: Buy It Now

Has ebay changed how it works or something??
I put 3 CDs on ebay on Saturday. I couldnt put a reserve on becuase they are under £50, so I started them off as an auction and put a Buy It Now of £6.
Now someone has bid the Buy It Now option has disapeared - having looked at the help section this seems to be how it works now but it never used to.
P*ssed off because now the CDs will go for a stupid price....

leave it run , you can always cancel the bids and pull the auction earlysmile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to....

Think you have to put a reserve on to keep the buy it now price there.0

The thing is it wouldnt let me put a reserve of less than £50 on!!! >:(
Yet I bet they'll still charge me for the BIN fee!
I think ebay are getting a bit greedy on this one... :-/0 -
It has always been the case that the BIN disappears as soon as the first bid is placed. The only difference now is that you cannot protect the BIN by placing a reserve of less than £50.
However, wouldn't it be easier and cheaper just to start the auction at the minimum price you would want to accept, then all you have to pay is your listing fee?

Has it?
Maybe it's becuase previoulsy I had a reserve.
The only thing is if you start too high you dont get any bids.
Oh well, I suppose it's all money in the bank and we sure need it at the moment!0 -
Actually i find that quite annoying, if i pay for a BIN i expect a BIN to stay regardless of someone bidding.
If they want it cheaper, then they can risk losing it to someone who's willing to BIN, think it's just profiteering on eBays side, not that they don't make enough as it is.0 -
That's true, I often BIN rather than bid if it's something I really want.
If i'd have known I could probably have got the item cheaper......
I'm sure it never used to do that, I've sold loads of stuff in the past... :-/0 -
