ING- All quiet?

ING appears to be pretty stable in the press, would it be safe to assume that savings are safe with ING?

It's irrelevant. Everyone baled out of ING years ago, not because they were unsafe but because they kept reducing their interest rates

Lol it would take a lot more than the box (miniature) of chocs that ING sent me to persuade me to transfer my savings back to them. !

FWIW I am not saying they are not secure, it's just that they short changed savers on interest in the past!
But for two (or even three?) years they were competitive against all the rest. Aren't you glad they did set up shop and start offering 4.3%! when BOE rate was a mere 3.75%? No one else was offering the rate they did for quite some time....

ING are akin to HSBC and Santander in terms of size, its more of an insurer than a bank too.

Regarding ING's interest rates- admittedly they are not the best around but as part of a broader range of saving options, ING has its use.

Remember what they say about eggs & baskets.

  • Despite how ING are slated on here, I actually can forgive them for the past faults with past interest rates (or lack of them)..& have to say still think they are very good...

plus their current web saver interest is very pleasing...

Don't be too hard on them, my coin key ring came in handy. I never got any chocs though. Charming!
