The ultimate money saving honeymoon

DH spotted this story in today's Telegraph. A couple collected enough cans and bottles to pay for their honeymoon flight. They took them to a Tesco recycling centre and converted the club card points which they earned into air miles. This is truly impressive money saving.

I've just checked Tesco's website as I would most definitely use one these machines if it were near me (Reading) but unfortunately there isn't one locally!

You are my star! :A Thanks for doing that! Funnily enough my local Tesco IS on that list - I must put my glasses on and look more closely next time I'm there!
Thanks again- am off to collect cans!

On GMTV this morning there were a couple who got their wedding for free, they bartered and got the reception by the bride offering to work shifts and the groom promising free plumbing. I didn't watch it because I had to go to work but it looked good!0

I spent a very pleasant half hour putting cans in the machine - very therapeutic! Quite a long way to go before I'm off to New York though!Overpay!0 -
They should put more of those types of recycling machines at all main stores, as the incentive to get clubcard points or get them turned into holidays might make more people think about recycling
If I had one of those that gave me points then I'd think me and my dad would be there all the while. What a bargain on the honeymoon though.:rotfl:

When you plan your honeymoon, start right at the outset. Make a list of what you want and don't want during your vacation. This will help avoid extra expenses, especially when looking into honeymoon packages.0
