if you buy the core system you have to upgrade with add on hard drive to play original games0
-
its because the xbox 360 is just a power pc at heart and uses software to emulate the original xbox
so to make original games work downloads are required to allow the system to run them0 -

So providing you buy the hard drive (sorry if I sound dull - just not technical at all) - you will be able to play the ordinary xbox games.
Also, I know there's the difference between the full and the core system - but is it just that the full system comes with the additional extras (separate) or is it that the full system is a compact system with everything already in it.
It's just for some reason I thought the full system was the core system plus the extra's as in a bundle.0 -
my argos confirmation finally turned up this morning at 5:39am so i guess it was a tad delayed with confirmation of delivery on sat 10th dec between 8am-2pm

you are right with what you say they are the same system but the core system has no extras, but if you want to save games you either require a memory card or the hard drive added
the hard drive also allows you to store music and pictures as well
but the machine is not backward compatible straight out of the box with all original xbox games
it seems microsoft will offer bigger hard drives later possibly
to turn the xbox into a personnel video recorder maybe
hope this helps0 -

Many thanks, I started to think that maybe the full system was one compact unit.
Received my confirmation e-mail from Argos for the core system - ordered yesterday at around 3pm - still won't believe it until I see it though!.0
