Baxi Bermuda Ignition

I have a Baxi Bermuda back boiler with gas fire in front. The boiler stopped working suddenly a few months ago. It would appear that the pilot light has gone out but unfortunately the automatic ignition does not work so I can't relight it. Is there any way for me to relight it manually because I cant figure out how to move the gas fire to get into the boiler (although I know it can't be that difficult because it took the engineer seconds to do it last time he was out). Is it likely to be needing a new thermocouple?
I know it wouldn't be too expensive a job to call someone out (though any cost is too much right now!) My main hesitation with that is that I'm worried the boiler will be automatically condemned rather than fixed. I had it serviced last year and was told that with new regulations coming in it wouldn't pass future inspections. I absolutely cannot afford to replace it now or at any point in the near future.
Safety comes first obviously but is there anything I can do? It's getting a bit chilly.

if you look underneath you can see the boiler burners. use a long match or taper (the kitchen type) and light the burner whilst you switch the unit on.
think you need to hold the grey button in for about 30 seconds?
ps, there may be a simple lower plate to remove first, to access the gap underneath.
pps. think you turn the white dial off first then turn it on after a minute?Get some gorm.0 -

I spent hours on my belly trying to do this last time the pilot light went out (after I had to turn the gas off at the mains) but was later told by the service engineer that you can't actually light the boiler this way.
I just wondered whether there was a safe way to pull the gas fire out to get access. I guess I'll have to get someone out.If I hadn't seen such riches, I could live with being poor...0 -
Hi
You will need a Corgi to take the fire off. It has a gas connection via a 3 way valve. The pilot may need to be cleaned, but not necessarily a new thermo couple, and a spark generator.

Had a man out last night - needed a new thermocouple. £60 labour for half an hour's work... I'm in the wrong job!
I have heat! :jIf I hadn't seen such riches, I could live with being poor...0
