Hi All, we have a Saniflo installed in our downstairs cloakroom. At the weekend my OH flushed a couple of baby wipes and now the motor is making a bit of a noise - sounds like it is struggling to process them or something has got stuck / blocked.
Any suggestions or have we broken it??!!

You need to open it up and unblock it.
Baby wipes are too tough.
Number 1s and 2s and toilet paper are the ONLY things you should put down a toilet connected to a Saniflo unit.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
Thanks for the quick response, I'll have a look and see whats inside - not looking forward to that!!0

Make your OH do it as a lesson on what not to flush down0

LOL - that would be the end of it for sure!!0

Get the "offender" to put a notice up -after he has unblocked it !0

To be pedantic it should also state "and human waste" otherwise things could get messy.
It is a good idea to mention blockages on the sign so people understand why.0 -

Hi Podder,
Did you eventually fix your Saniflo? It looks like ours has also blocked and we are planning to try a DIY repair.
The engineer on the phone and the Saniflo blurb suggests that the hum we can hear and no motor noise is due to a blockage and the capacitor having been blown to protect the motor.
Did you have to buy any Saniflo spares? If so where did you find them? I am not sure how easy it would be removing the unit from behind the loo so are hoping we can fix it in situ! Just wanted to know how you got on and wether you have any tips.
Thanks.0 -
These do get blocked a lot and we are stuck with 3 of them. I have got the basic blocked repair down to about 10 minutes.
undo 3 fixings on top.
bail out 'water' from right handside.
lift pump on left (no fixings) and invert and you will see blade with bits caught in it normally.
wiggle blade to get bits loose and reassemble.
regards,
Matt0
