My baby is due in under a month and after looking extensively on here and on entitled to I'm rather confused as to where we need to go and what we need to take with us in order to claim the following
Surely someone must know!!!!
- Child benefit (is this through some form or something you get at the hospital along with birth certificate)
- Child Tax Credit
- Working Family Tax Credit
- Council Tax Credit
- Ummmm anything else we might be entitled to?
Surely someone must know!!!!

i am sure if this is your first child the hospital give you the form for child benefit when your baby is born.
child tax and working tax credit you need to ring the tax credit office and ask them for a form to fill in the number is 08453003900
council tax you need to ring your local council / housing benefit office and ask them to send you a form.
have you applied for the materbity grant of £500 ??
i would ring tax credits and housing benefit now so you have the forms ready to send as soon as baby is born.....
hope this helps0 -
Hi there,
Thank you for replying to me!
Haven't applied for the maternity grant as of yet as I thought we might not be entitled to it until we can claim any of the benefits as at the moment we're not claiming anything but living on my smp and hubbys 15kpa salary...0 -
sorry just checked the maternity grant, but you have up until your baby is 3 months old0

most offices are appointment only so I would say you are better off phoning.
