Digital camera< £100

I am looking for a easy-to-use but good quality digital camera for my daughter for hopefully under £100. Does anyone know of any bargains out there?

Thanks
Val :)

  • Hi Rockman :)
I picked up the Fujifilm Finepix f20 for £49.99 from Tesco and i think Asda also had them for around £60 (currently £118 from Amazon).. The camera has great reviews

"probably not" for most phones :( ... although some of the 5mp camera phones do take a good photo. You could wait a few weeks/months; up your budget slightly and buy a Cannon from Ebay.
Rev do you not have any suggestions within the price range?

The trouble is, under £100 and you just wont get a good camera. At that price range you might as well just either buy the cheapest one you can find and expect to replace it within a short while, or trawl eBay and the likes for better quality higher priced ones that have been reduced to within your budget.

The Fugi Finepix F series cameras lead the way in small digital compacts for image sharpness and lowlight capabilities. They might not have all the features of other cameras, but then why do you need to pay extra for a pile of features you'll never use? Definately a brilliant wee camera which will beat most compacts in the same + even higher prices bracket.

Fuji Finepix F40fd are on sale at £84.99. One of the best small compacts to be found under £150.

I've had several Canon Powershot A series cameras, and they've all been easy to use, give good results and are good value. The Canon Powershot A580 available from http://www.empiredirect.co.uk (search for canon psa580, as I can't get the direct link to work) seems good value at £75.98 delivered

Enough change from £100 to buy a set of four rechargeable batteries (camera uses 2, plus 2 spare), battery charger, a couple of 1Gb memory cards, and a camera case.

There is a review at Steves Digicams

I'd agree to check out Tesco and Asda, I got my Olympus for just under £100 from Tesco and very happy with it. I got my daughter a Fuji from Jessops when there was a one day reduction offer around this time last year.

You can also check out the Fuji reconditioned website.

It is within the budget given by the OP, there are plenty of good cameras to be had for up to £100 or thereabouts.

    Fuji shop for the refubs.

    Check the reviews too.

There was a Sony camera reduced in Sainsbury the last time I looked. It probably won't be shabby and was £80, can't remember the model though. Go and clock the reductions, go home and research the models and then go back and buy.
