Like the heading says, from 20 Oct 08 until 31 March 09 (excluding 19 Dec 08-11 Jan 09) you can travel anywhere in Scotland, now including to/from Carlisle for only £15 return if you are 55 or over.
book at staffed First ScotRail stations or online at www.firstscotrail.com/club55 or by calling 08457 55 00 33.
Proof of age not needed to purchase tickets but may be requested when travelling.
If anyone has any other Scottish train queries I would be happy to try & help
