  • Didn't find out about this until today  and now I can't get my cash out. Does anyone know what loophole this guy's referring to (John Clarke - 2nd guy down)?

"I had about £5,000 left in the instant savings account, but I think I have managed to move that money now after finding a loophole on the net"

Bound to be plugged by now...

I transferred my balance to my current account over the weekend using CHAPS i.e. to be actioned on Monday. It happened.

CHAPS is much quicker than BACS - I hope I'm wrong and that Tomorrow morning all the transferrs arrive OK, but my gut feeling is that if they can be pulled back, they will be

my understanding of the credit clearing system is that once a transaction is initiated on the system, it has to complete. The money is no longer the possession of icesave so cannot be 'recalled'. Anyone who has an icesave account showing that money has left should fully expect to receive it in 2-3 days (BACS) or imminently (CHAPS). Anyone

    Hi
Just hung up the phone with Icesave. This was my 3rd call of the day with them. Despite earlier confirmation that my CHAPS was going through with no issue, the lady confirmed that no processing has been done since Sunday. My account will be revert back to how it was.
I aske her, where to go from here? Her reply was to wait until the online site would go back to "activity" again and you can start withdrewing the money again ..... very bad news for all of us I think..

looks like Icesave is going to fold, according to sky news.
the question now is, can the Icelandic government pay-up their part of the guarantee?
E.g. I only have £2800 invested (and I do feel for those with much larger deposits)
Do people on this forum think that, if the Ice People can't pay their part, will the UK govt help us??

When does a "shrewd investor" become a panicking scaremonger?

When the behaviour of sufficient numbers of you *cause* things like this to happen by posting scare stories/withdrawing all your money and telling the whole world about it?

    Just an idea.
    Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries

To go from a balance of over 5K to £1.09 is worrying when you don't know where it is !
Its made me think twice about a bank which is internet only!

Don't let this put you off - we're in unprecidented times!

I have over £100K in Icesave (3 seperate accounts) and I'm not worried
