But do you honestly think Boris, Cameron and his old etonian cronies would do more for the working man?

Lifting children out of poverty, introducing the minimum wage, low inflation, low unemployment... more than the Tories ever did.

Thank you once again, what have Labour done, at the moment Unemployed is creeping back up,Poverty still exists at a high level, and most of all that has been achieved over the years is very quickly going down and out.

On a lighter note Eddy Izzard is far funnier than Boris but even less desirable as PM. Funny does not make for financial stability If you compare our economy with that of the USA we are in a remarkably robust position comparing wth the rest of the worlds economies, it is bad but we as a nation are weathering the storm better than most, vote for the conservative and you throw that down the drain and when things go tits up its the likes of you and me that will suffer under the Tories not the Tories.

No I don't think he has, but in fairness to him he has had a lot of bad luck (apart from the 10% gaff which was all his fault) plus the media do seem to have 'it in for him', actually I never wanted GB to take over from TB who even though many people disliked him does have charisma and was an articulate speaker, had I been choosing a successor to TB it would not have been GB. :)

As a team they were phenominal, it's a pity they couldn't settle their differences and continue a few more years as they were. There has never been a better political team in my lifetime.

You say the media have it in for him, this is the same person who has backed the upgrade of savings from £35 to £50k and in the event of a failure who foots the bill..Mmmm let me think l know the tax payer... the same tax payer who just about survives to pay their bills..

Actually, in the event of a failure the FSCS takes money from the other institutions in the scheme, not the tax payer. So no, you don't know.

The increase from £35k to £50k is to reassure, he has no intention of paying it out but by introducing it he reduces the risk of even paying out the £35k as the market will not panic nor will the savers, your tax pound is safer with him at the moment than anyone else in British politics.

I think you will find there is a vast difference between likeable and COMPETENT

Sir at the hands of sounding disrespectful, Mr Johnson made it quite clear at the Olympic games with his hands in his pockets that he is most certainly down to earth like the rest of us, nothing false,no crap, just straight forward how it is..go go Boris

Sorry but I was looking for suggestions based on two criteria:
    1 Better equiped
    2 Morally motivated

I'm afraid Boris fails on both counts

Well on that note l think it's my bed time, your statement on raising the amount is to stop panic is most certainly true.BUT it was only introduced to stop people withdrawing their money in the first palce and causing a financial melt down..

NOW back to the original Poll. l setmefree who has been condemned by different people in the past, but have been proved right predict that BORIS JOHNSON would most certainly make the finest Prime Minister that Britain would ever have...

And if the current economic crisis was of his making you could possibly condemn him for it, but as it isn't you can't, the only question then is was it the prudent thing to do and the answer to that is of course it was who wants a meltdown.

Why did you make it a multiple choice poll, when the answers are 'Yes' and 'No'?

It's the sort of thing Boris would have done.......
