Hi,
We had some plastering done in our home and the plasterers got PVA bonding adhesive on some metal fittings in the room. Can any one tell me tell me if there is any substance or product which can dissolve PVA adhesive.
Thanks

It normally peels off.
What metal are they? If it's Brass then it's very sensitive to abrasion.
Thinners of some sort will finish the PVA off. Car dashboard cleaner is actually very good, or Parafin. Test a small area first though, I don't want you doing damage!Happy chappy0 -
Hi,
Thanks for that, the metal is brushed or satin finished aluminium. The stuff will not peel and has gone rock hard. I have tried to scrape it off will various plastic objects so as not to damage the metal but it is a really slow process thats why I was wondering if something would soften it.
Thanks :beer:0 -
Be careful with alluminium - it is very easy to scratch. Your only hope is water. I'd try to dismantle fittings and soak in water for a day.
P.S. Just found this:
PVA Remover Ј4.80
Simple To Use. Spray On, Leave For 3 Minutes & Wipe Off
Even Breaks Down Hardened Adhesive Marks
I'd be very careful with using this ...
