What was the stupidest/highest value item you bought that contributed to debt?

    Spent £15k on a car in April still paying for it and will be paying for it until February 2008...unless I win the lottery of course!!!
    Debt at highest (November 2005) = £35,856

    Debt currently (August 2006) = £20,790
    &More £1,530, Egg £6,800, HSBC £3,760, Egg Loan £8,700

    Interim goal = £23,400 (Target: February 2006, Missed but acheived May 2006)
    2nd Interim Goal = £15,000, Target October 2006
    Debt Free Date = February 2008 BUT I'M GOING TO BE TRYING FOR SOONER!!! :p

  • i dont have much to show for my debt. Maybe soem furniture... thats it.

    But most of it wasnt my fault completly. I put £4500 into a company my brother owned (off credit cards). Then after that didnt take a salery for 3 months. While running a car (needed for work, 60 mile round trip) and petrol etc. All going on CC's while i didnt take a salery.

    Just spend £2500 doing up part of my girlfriends parents house, to find out i cant stand living there, so have bought a house.

    Stands at £15k i belive, but that does include £2k of furniture for the new flat.
